About the UU Consolidation Marathon
About the UU Consolidation Marathon
Coming Saturday May 10th, 2025, the UU Consolidation Marathon is an experimental community event and informal running/biking/walking challenge for folks friendly to Unitarian Universalism (a liberal religious movement - explore uua.org for more information).
Participants can run the half or full route, bike/walk a few legs, or relay with a team; the Marathon aims to weave together the many UU communities in the Boston area through our collective efforts!
This Marathon celebrates the consolidation of the American Unitarian Association and Universalist Church of America in mid-May 1961 by visiting eleven congregations (and an historic building in Somerville) across 26.2 miles. Imagine!
Like most marathons, the UU Consolidation Marathon is a fundraiser. In the spirit of our interdependence, all funds will be sent to the UUA Disaster Relief Fund (uua.org). Details will be worked out with the Unitarian Universalist Association.
